India is facing a major crisis of air quality, 12 of the 15 most polluted cities worldwide are located in India. While outdoor air pollution attracts people’s attention, air conditioners often bring outdoor air pollution inside the house, affecting the indoor air quality.
New business solutions are also being created according to the problems of today regarding air pollution and health protection. For such a new solution, Ravi Kaushik has created a patented solution with IIT Bombay in AiRTH anti-microbial air purifier.
Airth is an Indian startup which is the World First AC Air Purifier Smart Device designed to work without electricity, this innovative filter protects against PM 2.5, PM 10 and harmful germs, which prevents 30 grams of dust from entering the lungs annually.
Founded in 2020 by Ravi Kaushik and later joined by Abhimanyu Kumar, Airth aims to bring clean air to every home in India. Airth is an air purifier for ACs that sits on top of the AC like a crown with just 2 minutes of installation. It can remove 99.99% of pathogens in 10 minutes. Priced at just ₹3,000, this product transforms an ordinary air conditioner into a powerful air purifier and also cuts down on AC maintenance costs. Its modular design makes it equally effective year-round, adaptable to summer and winter needs.
At the heart of Airth’s innovation is its proprietary Airth Coating, a germ-killing filter powered by elements such as polyphenols and polycationic polymers commonly found in green tea. These components destroy germs through polymer binding.
Airth has double-coated HEPA Filters, which provide 2X filtration and can purify even extreme polluted air. By combining HEPA Technique with a unique germ destroying coating, the filter not only traps microscopic particles but also actively inactivates viruses and bacteria. Airth got a funding deal of ₹96 lakhs at a valuation of 27.3 crores for 3.7% equity from Aman Gupta and Vinita Singh in Shark Tank India Season 4
